By using the home energy advice website (https://homeenergyadvice.citygreen.ca/), you agree to the following:

Home energy advice (the “Program”) website and its services (the “Services”) are administered in whole or in part, by City Green Solutions (“City Green”) and or “Administrator”, and in collaboration, from time to time, with additional third-party contributors (each, a “Collaborating Party”). Each eligible applicant is referred to as a “Participant”.

Privacy

City Green collects, uses, and discloses personal information for the purposes of delivering and evaluating the Services in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act (“PIPA”). You can choose to send the Administrators information about yourself, including your name, address, phone number, utility information, and home attributes, including your EnerGuide Rating System file number, so that the Administrators can provide the Services to you. That information may be provided  through an online web form, mailed document, or email. That information will be stored for a period of up to two years after the end of program your first contact with the Program.

The Program collects your information to:

• Verify your identity.
• Understand the renovation needs of Participants in order to provide the best support services to you.
• Periodically conduct surveys to improve the Program.
• Use the information for study and/or research while preserving your privacy and confidentiality to improve Program.

You may be contacted by the Administrators by phone, email, direct mail or similar method for the purposes of administering, evaluating and researching all elements of the Program any time up to two years after the end of the program.  You can opt out of receiving communications anytime by contacting the Administrators and requesting to be unsubscribed.

When you use the website, the Administrators will collect anonymous information using website analytics and other tracking tools about how visitors use homeenergyadvice.citygreen.ca in order to continually improve the website experience.

Limits of Liability

You are solely responsible for choosing products, services, energy advisors, and contractors and understanding and applying for any rebate programs, and for complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and bylaws when completing energy efficiency upgrades.

The information provided by homeenergyadvice.citygreen.ca is general energy efficiency information and it is not a substitute for an EnerGuide home evaluation, professional advice, or quotes from licensed contractors. Prior to undertaking energy efficiency upgrades, you should confirm the information provided through the homeenergyadvice.citygreen.ca with professionals who will provide you with recommendations and advice specific to your home and home improvement needs.

The Administrators do not make any representation or warranty about the accuracy, reliability, currency or completeness of any information or material contained on  homeenergyadvice.citygreen.ca or on any linked site or provided through the home energy advice energy experts or other Services provided. Links to other websites from the homeenergyadvice.citygreen.ca are inserted for convenience and do not constitute endorsement of material at those sites, or any associated organization, product or service.

The Program does not guarantee, and accepts no liability for, the level of energy savings achieved by a Participant under this Program.

The Administrators and its Collaborating Partners are not responsible under any circumstances whatsoever for the actions, omissions, recommendations or advice of any contractor or Energy Expert engaged by a Participant in connection with the Program.

By using homeenergyadvice.citygreen.ca and its Services, Participants hereby agree to indemnify and save harmless the Program, the Administrators, its Collaborating Partners, and their respective directors, officers, agents and employees from all liability, damages, claims, demands, expenses, and costs for claims, costs for injury or death of any person, damage to or destruction of property and all economic loss suffered by any person arising from or occurring by reason of the receipt of a Benefit(s) or actual or alleged preparation, installation or use of the Benefit(s), including any actions or omissions by third-party consultants or contractors in the preparation or delivery of the Benefit(s).
