- Home energy advice (the “Offer”) is offered by City Green Solutions (“City Green”) for Vancouver City Savings Credit Union (“Vancity”) eligible members and additional third-party contributors (“Collaborating Partner”). Eligible participants who are approved to participate in the Offer may access benefits as defined in these Terms and Conditions (collectively, the “Benefits”).
- Benefits of the Offer include, but are not limited to:
- Advice from City Green energy experts regarding the energy efficiency, comfort, and emissions of the participant’s home based on their registration form and phone call
- Summary report with recommendations from energy expert
- Follow-up support on matters such as comparing installation quotes, reviewing EnerGuide assessment, advice on hiring contractors, and other general questions
- Benefits of the Offer include, but are not limited to:
- The Offer Terms and Conditions are effective May 30, 2022 until funds are exhausted or until the Offer is terminated, whichever comes first.
General Eligibility
- To access Benefits under the Offer, each applicant and each Benefit must satisfy the eligibility and other requirements set out in these Terms and Conditions (each eligible applicant is referred to as a “Participant”). The eligibility criteria of premises (the “Premises”) are as follows:
- Participants must be owners of a home within British Columbia.
- Premises must be at least 12 months old.
- Participants must be a Vancity member.
- Each Participant must submit a separate registration form per Premise.
- The Premise must be connected to a residential account with one of the following utilities:
- FortisBC Natural Gas
- FortisBC Inc.
- BC Hydro
- City of New Westminster
- City of Grand Forks
- District of Summerland
- City of Penticton
- Nelson Hydro
- Pacific Northern Gas
- The Premise must be heated primarily by one of the following:
- natural gas, propane or oil (a fireplace is not considered a primary heating system)
- electricity (hard-wired electric heating systems such as electric baseboards, radiant ceilings, radiant floors, forced-air furnace/boiler, or heat pump)
- wood or other solid fuel
- The following types of premises are eligible for the Offer:
- single family home (detached dwelling).
- secondary suite in a single-family home (detached dwelling); the home and secondary suite must be individually metered.
- mobile home that is permanently fixed, sits on a foundation and is structurally complete with installed and connected plumbing, heating, electrical, water and sewer services; towing apparatus and axle must be removed.
- duplex, triplex, row home or townhome, where each unit has its own natural gas and/or electricity meter. Utility accounts must be in the name of the resident and/or homeowner; utility accounts in the name of a strata corporation are not eligible
- The following types of premises are not eligible for the Offer:
- multi-unit residential buildings such as condominiums, high-rises and apartment buildings
- garages, workshops, and outbuildings
Home Energy Advice
- The Offer is a limited quantity offer and available first come, first served until funds are exhausted or termination of the Offer.
- Participants must submit the registration form to access Benefits. Accessing Benefits consists of receiving a consultation and the subsequent home energy advice report.
- One registration form must be submitted per consultation request.
- The Offer can be rescheduled 2 times before the request is cancelled. Cancelled requests count towards the per Premise limit.
- Participants will receive a home energy advice report within 10 business days that summarizes the nature of the consultation and provides advice on taking next steps to achieve indicated goals and motivations.
General terms and conditions
- Participants are solely responsible for meeting all eligibility requirements.
- City Green reserves the right to revise the Terms and Conditions without notice, including but not limited to revisions to Benefits and eligibility requirements.
- Decisions of City Green are final and binding and not subject to appeal. City Green may provide reasons for their decisions but are under no obligation to do so.
- City Green reserves the right, without incurring any liability, to reject Offer requests, or applications, that it determines, in its sole discretion, are incomplete, inaccurate, or otherwise do not meet applicable Offer requirements. An Offer application or registration will be considered incomplete if it is missing required documents, information is incomplete, or if City Green requests additional details.
- If an Offer registration is received incomplete, City Green may void the registration if the Participant fails to provide a fully completed application or registration within ten business days after receiving a request to do so.
- Participants are responsible for ensuring that if products are installed, that they are installed in accordance with all applicable laws, orders, ordinances, standards, codes and other rules, licenses, and permits of all lawful authorities, and in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
- Participants must ensure appropriate products and installation techniques are used that do not compromise their Premises’ structure, indoor air quality and safety.
- City Green or Vancity do not endorse any specific product, retailer, Energy Advisor or contractor, and are not liable for the Participant’s selection of materials or products, or the workmanship, operation, performance or warranty associated with any Benefits or associated work performed, whether by a contractor, Energy Advisor, or otherwise, in relation to the Offer. City Green and Vancity make no representation or warranty, whether express or implied, in respect of any product, materials, services or measures associated with any Benefits accessed in relation to the Program, or with respect to the energy consumption figures or energy-efficiency recommendations included in any EnerGuide home evaluation. Actual energy consumption and costs depend on a host of factors beyond the control of City Green, and the Offer.
- City Green or Vancity do not guarantee, and accept no liability for, the level of energy savings achieved by a Participant under this Offer.
- City Green and its Collaborating Partners, or Vancity are not responsible under any circumstances whatsoever for the actions, omissions, recommendations or advice of any contractor or Energy Expert engaged by a Participant in connection with the Offer.
- Participants hereby agree to indemnify and save harmless City Green, its Collaborating Partners, Vancity and their respective directors, officers, agents and employees from all liability, damages, claims, demands, expenses, and costs for claims, costs for injury or death of any person, damage to or destruction of property and all economic loss suffered by any person arising from or occurring by reason of the receipt of a Benefit(s) or actual or alleged preparation, installation or use of the Benefit(s), including any actions or omissions by third-party consultants or contractors in the preparation or delivery of the Benefit(s).
- The Offer, including its Terms and Conditions, are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia.
Feedback Survey E-gift card terms and conditions
- Only surveys submitted on or after August 1, 2023, are eligible to receive an e-gift card.
- Gift cards are limited to one per Participant. Offer is available subject to funding. Offer may end at any time without notice.
- Participants must include an accurate email address in order to receive a $10 gift card. Incorrect emails will result in no gift card being administered to the Participant.
- If a Feedback Survey is received incomplete, City Green may void the e-gift card if the Participant fails to provide a fully completed Feedback Survey or accurate email address upon initial submission.
Access and use of personal information and protection of privacy
- City Green and its Collaborating Partners are collecting, using and disclosing personal information for the purpose of administering the Offer, evaluating the effectiveness of the Offer, and undertaking analysis and research to inform changes to existing programs and the design of new energy-efficiency programs.
- City Green will be disclosing the Participant’s information to Vancity. Vancity will collect, use, disclose and retain that information in accordance with their privacy code.
- City Green and its Collaborating Partners collect, use and disclose personal information in accordance with provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act (“PIPA”) and its Privacy Policy. If Participants have any questions regarding the personal information collected, they are invited to call City Green at 250-381-9995.
- By submitting registration form, the Participant consents to:
- the disclosure of their personal information, as provided by the Participant in any Offer registration materials, to City Green and any Collaborating Party and their respective affiliates and contractors, for the purposes of administering the Program, evaluating the effectiveness of the Program and undertaking analysis and research to inform changes to existing programs and the design of new energy-efficiency programs;
- being contacted by City Green by phone, email, direct mail or similar method for the purposes of administering, evaluating and researching all elements of the Program any time up to two years after the end of the program. You can opt out of receiving communications anytime by contacting City Green and requesting to be unsubscribed.
- being contacted by City Green by phone, email, direct mail or similar method for the purposes of marketing current or future services any time up to two years after the end of the program. You can opt out of receiving communications anytime by contacting City Green and requesting to be unsubscribed.
- specifically with respect to the EnerGuide home evaluations, the disclosure of their personal information to NRCan, City Green and any Collaborating Party for the purposes of administering the Offer, evaluating the effectiveness of the Offer and undertaking analysis and research to inform changes to existing programs and the design of new energy-efficiency programs. The Participant hereby authorizes City Green and Collaborating Parties to collect this information indirectly through NRCan and/or the Energy Advisor, knowing that all parties must, at a minimum, safeguard the Participant’s information according to information protection standards under applicable federal and provincial privacy legislation.
